Career Guidance & Mentorship
Workshops and events that introduce learners to career opportunities they might not otherwise encounter.
The Clement Manyathela Foundation is a civil society organisation focused on supporting rural and under-resourced learners through guidance, psychosocial support and access to essential resources.
The Clement Manyathela Foundation exists to empower rural and disenfranchised youth by providing them with the tools, guidance and support to overcome challenges and pursue their goals.
Our work is rooted in the belief that where a young person grows up should not determine the opportunities available to them.
We work with schools, universities, professionals and organisations to create meaningful and sustained support for learners in communities that are often underserved.
The Foundation's work is delivered through three interconnected focus areas.
Workshops and events that introduce learners to career opportunities they might not otherwise encounter.
Access to mental health support for learners facing trauma, family difficulties and personal challenges.
Essential educational materials, including books, learning aids and technology, to support learners' academic success.
The Foundation's primary activity is the provision of counselling and psychosocial support to learners in rural and under-resourced schools.
This includes trauma-informed counselling, emotional support, and the creation of safe spaces where learners can speak openly about the challenges affecting their wellbeing and school performance.
Services are delivered through structured, school-based programmes in partnership with qualified psychologists and counsellors.
The Foundation coordinates scheduled visits to the schools it adopts, where learners receive individual counselling, small-group support, and psycho-educational sessions.
Where needed, learners are referred to partner health institutions for further support.
All services are provided free of charge to beneficiaries.

While the Foundation is not itself an accredited training institution, all counselling services are delivered by appropriately qualified, professionally registered practitioners.
Our direct beneficiaries are learners in rural and under-resourced public schools.
These include learners facing psychological distress, trauma, or a lack of access to guidance and resources.
Indirect beneficiaries include their families, educators and wider school communities, who benefit as learners become more stable, supported and engaged in their education.
The Foundation is funded through donations, grants and fundraising activities.
Financial reports are managed by an accounting firm, and a dedicated bank account is maintained in the Foundation's name, requiring at least two authorised signatories for all transactions.
Financial records are properly kept and audited annually.
The Foundation holds an Annual General Meeting each year to review its progress, financial statements, and to elect Board members.
A quorum requires at least two-thirds of the Board. Ordinary meetings are held as needed to discuss and implement programmes.
